R-9 Limited Hoists, Cranes, and Lifts (2013-07-01)
The holder of this license may perform only work limited to
installation, maintenance, alteration or repair of equipment,
apparatus or machines used to hoist or lift materials. Such
hoists, lifts or cranes, including, but not limited to,
monorails, under hung cranes, overhead hoists, top running
single girder cranes with under hung hoists and double girder
cranes with top running hoists shall be permanently or
temporarily placed and of a fixed nature. The holder of this
license may not perform work on any freight elevator. The
requirements to qualify for this license examination shall be
two (2) years as a properly licensed journeyperson or
equivalent experience and training. This license does not
apply to a crane as defined in section 29-221 of the
Connecticut General Statutes and regulated by the examining
board for crane operators.
